What are the age restrictions?

We do not have any restrictions on ages for our participants. We welcome everyone from children to senior adults. Participants need to be able to be mobile and adaptable to a busy schedule.

Do I need vaccinations (especially Covid)?

We do not require any vaccinations.

What’s the cost? What additional (hidden) costs will there be?

The cost of the trip can be found on the site location page. Additional costs would include if your team would like to take part in an excursion on your free day and any meals or other costs that you may incur during your travels days. We also ask that teams provide a minimum of $500 for project funds.

Where will i stay? who will i stay with? can i stay with my family?

All participants will be staying in a dorm setting with your group. Dorms are assigned by male and female.


I’m coming with a small group/family. will i be partnered with another group for our work project?

A group is usually considered 10 people or more. If you are not part of a group, we will find another group that will be happy to have you as part of their team for the week once you arrive at our location.

What projects will we be doing?

There are a variety of project possibilities including construction, landscaping, VBS, sports camps and more. Our staff will help your team leader pick a project that best suits the make up of your team when they attend the pre-site trip.

What will the schedule be like?

Your day will begin with breakfast and a worship service with all the participants that will consist of a live band and a speaker. After the worship service, all teams will travel to their worksite to spend the day followed by dinner at the local church before returning to where you are staying.

Will we have free time?

Teams will have free time each night after dinner, as well as, one free day during the week to go out and experience some local sites.

Do we have to provide project funds? How much will that be?

All teams will be asked to provide a minimum of $500 in project funds. The exact amount will be determined by what type of project your team chooses.

Do we need to purchase travel insurance?

We will purchase Work and Witness insurance for all participants from the Church of the Nazarene. This insurance also covers cancellation costs if your registration has been paid in full.

What if I get sick? Are there qualified doctors nearby?

There are medical facilities in all of the cities where we work.

Do I need a passport?

Yes. All travel outside of the United States will require a passport.

Will there be a pre-site trip for team leaders?

There will be a pre-site trip that we encourage all team leaders to attend in the fall before each trip the next summer. During the pre-site trip, we will take a tour of the local churches and potential worksites and we will work with them to choose the best project for their team. When it comes to the cost of the pre-site trip, we ask that team leaders pay for their transportation to and from, Costa Rica. Once on the ground we take care of housing.

Do you offer refunds?

We do not offer refunds, however registrations are transferable or participants can get their money back through the insurance if the registration has been paid in full.
